We were chilling in our garden, Esther and I. Em was lurking around, trying to look busy. We sat at the table, slowly working through the fruit bowl.
“Do you think, Em is really in love with you?” I asked Esther jokingly.
“Haha, I think so. I bet your brother wants to fuck me.” Esther answered without any shame. I was always shocked at how outspoken she could be. I peeked around to see if mom was listening to us. She would be mad if she heard us swearing.
